How does a Wireless Cycling Computer work?And is it any better then a non wireless
The newest wireless cycling computers have the same functionality as the wired versions. The only major difference is going to be on the price; wireless will cost a bit more.
The main reasons to get a Wireless Bike Computer are that they tend to be a bit easier to install (no messy wiring to route along the bike) and they make you bike look a lot cleaner, without the wiring and inevitable cable ties to hold down the wiring.
The downsides to a wireless bike computer are the slight cost increase (though it's not all that much these days), and the additional batteries that you may need since the sensor pickup requires some sort of battery to power a wireless transmitter.
In terms of interference, yes, that will be a problem, especially if you are riding near power lines and other strong EMI sources. In regards to getting interference from other riders, I've never had a problem with my wireless computers when I ride in a pack. However, we often joke about that when we're riding -- "My HR seems awfully high right now...must be picking up your HR..."
Overall, I'd highly recommend a wireless computer since downsides are minor compared to the aggravation of installing a wired version and the horrible aesthetics of having cables all over your bike.
