I want to buy a very bright torch for my car. I think I want a flashlight??
But I don't know what I'm looking for interms of specs and watts ect..

What are the details of a "good" torch?
The intensity of the light output from a flashlight is measured in Candle-power (also called candelas). The higher the Candle-power, the brighter it will be. If you're going to be using it from your car, you should probably get a 500,000 candle-power flashlight or more; this is from my experience. I owned a rechargeable 500,000 candle-power flashlight and it shined bright enough from the car to light up a house. Most flashlights have the candlepower rating on the box.
You're probably going to want a rechargeable flashlight, in which case you'll want it to have lithium-ion batteries. The voltage and wattage of the flashlight will depend on its candlepower.
